MDM is currently seeking qualified, self motivated candidates for the following positions:
Project Manager – Transportation/Civil Design
Marlborough, Massachusetts
Position involves active management and supervision of staff on a wide variety of private and public sector engineering projects. Responsibilities include the supervision and mentoring of staff in the preparation of design plans for roadway and intersection improvements and specifications, construction cost estimates, functional design reports, bid documents, response to comments, shop drawing review and highway access permits. Client interaction/coordination, public/agency outreach, project representation at public meetings, assessment of roadway improvements/mitigation and the ability to manage a project from preliminary to final design is essential for this position.
PE registration and experience with MassDOT design standards/complete streets guidelines is required. Excellent written/oral skills, and 7-15 years experience is preferred. Fluency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, roadway and traffic signal design required.
Project Engineer -Transportation/Civil Design
Marlborough, Massachusetts
Position involves a wide variety of engineering tasks including preparation of design plans for roadway and intersection improvements, preparation of specifications, construction cost estimates, functional design reports, bid documents and in-field evaluation of proposed improvements.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required. Experience with traffic signal design, stormwater design and MassDOT design standards is desirable, but not required. BSCE, EIT, excellent written/verbal skills and 2-10 years experience is preferred. For the ideal candidate, this position could evolve into a project management position. Working toward PE registration is desired.
Civil/AutoCAD Designer
Marlborough, Massachusetts
Position involves a variety of AutoCAD design tasks including preparation of design plans for roadway and intersection improvements, profile and cross-section plans, drainage and utility plans, organizing and maintaining company standards and details, preparation of graphics for reports and studies and preparation of presentation media for public meetings.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required. Experience with MassDOT design standards, Excel and MS Word is desirable, but not required. Good written/oral skills and a minimum of 2-10 years experience is preferred. For the right candidate, this position may eventually lead to a department manager position. Must be able to manage assignments in a team-oriented environment. Working knowledge of computer systems, networks and IT related experience a plus, but not required.
Resident Construction Engineer – Roadways/Utilities
Marlborough, Massachusetts
Position involves a wide variety of in-field and occasional office engineering tasks related to the oversight/inspection of roadway and intersection improvement projects designed by the firm. The ideal candidate will oversee and monitor the project construction, prepare daily reports, coordinate materials and compaction testing, photo document the work as it progresses, assist in identifying and resolving construction impacts/conflicts, review design plans and details relative to constructability, assist in preparing construction cost estimates, document item quantities for payment, and attend meetings with Contractors, Clients, Municipal and/or MassDOT officials.
Candidate must be able to effectively communicate with clients, abutters, roadway and utility contractors, Municipal and/or MassDOT officials. Candidate must also be competent in overseeing various construction processes including full-depth reconstruction, reclamation, milling and resurfacing, drainage system installation, sidewalk construction, and signs/pavement marking for compliance with plans and specifications. BSCE, EIT, excellent written/oral skills and 3-15 years of similar experience is preferred.
